Chockalingham “Vish” Viswesvaran has been named one of the most influential industrial and organizational psychologists in the nation.
Dr. Asia Eaton was invited to speak at a social media misconduct symposium, hosted at the Marine Corps HQ in Quantico, VA. Dr. Eaton addressed the corps’ leaders and officers on the dangers of sharing non-consensual pornography.
In a recent article by Aguinis et al. (in press) examining the most influential authors in industrial and organizational psychology (as cited in I-O textbooks), Dr. Vish was ranked 13th out of 8,603 authors. Congratulations Dr. Vish, and thank you for your influential contributions to the field!
David Van Rooy, an alumnus of FIU's IO psychology department has been selected to receive a Distinguished Alumnus Torch Award for the School of Integrated Science and Humanity. David is the Vice President of Executive Development at Walmart. The Torch Awards are presented to FIU alumni who have brought honor and distinction to the university through their notable record of service and achievement in a particular discipline, organization, or cause. Congratulations to David!
Dr. Asia Eaton has been selected to receive the 2016 Michele Alexander Early Career Award, which recognizes early career excellence in scholarship as well as in service. Dr. Eaton's record of scholarship, teaching, and service was described by the award committee as the embodiment of this honor. Congratulations Dr. Eaton!
John Wittgenstein, a doctoral candidate working with Dr. Valentina Bruk-Lee, received the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education Best Dissertation Award. Congratulations John!
Several students from our IO program were selected to attend the Southern Management Association's doctoral and pre-doctoral consortia this year. Congratulations to Renzo Barrantes, David Beane, and Archana Manapragada for being accepted to the late-stage doctoral consortium, Armando Falcon for acceptance to the early-stage doctoral consortium, and Caressa Rolle for acceptance in the pre-doctoral consortium. These students will also receive a $500 stipend for their attendance.
